The 6th Annual “Vettes in the Valley” was held May 29 & 30, 2010 at the Festival Grounds in Maggie Valley, NC. Over 285 Corvettes from 15 states attended an enjoyed beautiful Maggie Valley and great weather (until Sunday afternoon). The Valley was filled with fabulous cars and great people for the weekend.
Over 50 trophies, awards and prizes were presented at the Awards Ceremony Sunday afternoon. Best in Show went to Don Davidson from Cape Coral FL for his 2007 Yellow Convertible and Best in Show Trailered went to Sheila Self of Cullman, AL for her 1954 Polo White Corvette. The Corvette Enthusiast Sponsors Trophy went to Sheila Self for her 1954 White Corvette; People’s Choice went to Michael Medford’s 1963 Silver Coupe from Waynesville, NC and Participant’s Choice went to Tommy Loftin from Troutman, NC for his 1961 Maroon Convertible. The Mayor’s trophy went to David & Brenda Urke from Greer, SC for their 1978 Black T- top “Viking Vette” and the Wade Reece Memorial Trophy went to Don Davidson from Cape Coral, FL for his 2007 Yellow Convertible. Queen City Corvette Club from Charlotte, NC won the trophy for Club Bringing the Most Corvettes with 16 Corvettes and Jim Moore from Springtown, TX got the trophy for Corvette Traveling the Greatest Distance. There were trophies and awards given in every class C-1 through C-6.
We are thrilled with the participation and enthusiasm of the Corvette owners that attend every year and delighted to greet, with open arms, the new participants. We have wonderful sponsors and vendors, as well as a great group of Corvette couples that volunteer to help with the show. The town of Maggie Valley loves Corvettes and always puts it’s best foot forward to make them feel at home. The beautiful setting and friendly people make it a great destination. Come on Back!!
